Summary


Working under the direct supervision of the Regional Sales Manager, the Account Manager supports the new business and renewal business production goals of an assigned region via interaction with agents, underwriters, and other internal and external customers.


Duties Include:


  • Reviews and pre-qualifies all new and renewal business submissions based upon guidelines.
  • Develops complete client information and applications for new and renewal business. Assists with preparing and sending submissions to carrier partners for review
  • Proactively facilitates conversations with broker, Underwriting and Marketing as needed based upon initial assessment of new business submission or renewal status.
  • Utilize pipeline reports to insure need-by dates are met and applies discretion in prioritizing accounts.
  • Reviews quotes to ensure pricing and coverage is in line with targets. Compares/contrasts based upon knowledge of competition. Assists Sales and Marketing when needed with follow up calls to the broker to review proposals and discuss potential changes.
  • Reviews binding conditions to insure all are met prior to making decision to bind account and sends confirmation of coverage.
  • Maintains documentation of account file to meet compliance and internal quality control requirements.
  • Analyzes renewal documents received for accuracy and acceptability. Reaches out to agents to discuss any changes in exposure, and determine potential competition, pricing or coverage issues that may arise at renewal.
  • Assists in the development of strong business relationships with appropriate insurance carrier partners and personnel.
  • Maintains knowledge of new and existing products and collaborates with the Sales team to identify cross sell opportunities.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Strong customer service focus with a highly professional attitude and approach to business
  • Knowledge of P&C insurance markets and products including rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations.
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of agency management software and insurance rating software; proficient in Microsoft Suite office software.
  • Must possess strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Able to work under pressure and time constraints with significant telephone and personal interruptions.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent. College degree desirable.
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in insurance account management or similar role.
  • Property and Casualty License preferred
